BOSEN ARCHERY designs and manufactures ILF risers, barebow risers and hunting risers for target, traditional and field archery. Choose from CNC-machined aluminum alloy and engineered laminated wood constructions in lengths from 15" to 25". Each riser is built in our own workshop with precision-machined limb pockets and pre-tapped accessory mounting.

How to Choose a Riser

Riser Length

Riser length determines your bow's overall length, stability, and shootability. Shorter risers (15"–19") are compact and maneuverable for hunting and traditional shooting. Longer risers (21"–25") provide greater stability and a larger sight window for target and barebow competition.

Material: Aluminum vs Engineered Wood

CNC Aluminum — Rigid, consistent, and weather-resistant. Ideal for competition and all-climate hunting. No warping, no maintenance.
Engineered Laminated Wood — Warmer grip feel, natural vibration dampening, and classic aesthetics. More forgiving in hand shock but requires basic care.

ILF Compatibility

All BOSEN risers use the ILF (International Limb Fitting) standard. This means our risers accept ILF limbs from BOSEN and most major brands including Hoyt Grand Prix, Win&Win, MK, and Kaya. Simply slot in your limbs and tune.

Handedness

Most BOSEN risers are available in Right Hand and Left Hand configurations. Select your dominant hand at checkout. If you are unsure, Right Hand is the standard choice for right-eye-dominant shooters who hold the bow in their left hand.

Do ILF risers fit all ILF limbs?
Yes. The ILF standard is universal. BOSEN risers accept any ILF-compatible limbs.

What riser length should I choose?
For target and barebow competition, 25" is the most popular. For hunting and traditional archery, 17"–19" offers better maneuverability. For all-around use, 21" is a versatile middle ground.

Aluminum vs wood riser: which is better?
Aluminum is more durable and maintenance-free. Wood offers a warmer grip and better shock absorption. For wet climates or rough field use, choose aluminum. For traditional feel and range comfort, choose wood.

Can I use a hunting riser for target shooting?
Yes, though shorter hunting risers (15"–17") provide less stability at long distances than 25" target risers. Many shooters start with a 19"–21" riser for dual-purpose use.
