Collection: LIMBS

BOSEN ARCHERY manufactures ILF recurve limbs, longbow limbs and traditional bow limbs for every discipline. Choose from carbon foam, double carbon and fiberglass constructions in lengths from 66" to 72". Available in ILF and Formula fittings, with draw weights from 20 to 55 lbs. Each pair is built in our own workshop and backed by direct factory support.

How to Choose Recurve Limbs

Limb Length

Your riser length determines your final bow length when paired with short, medium or long limbs. A 25" riser with medium limbs produces a 68" bow—the most common setup for adult target archers. Use the chart below to match your riser and limb size:

Riser Length Short Limbs Medium Limbs Long Limbs
17" 58" 60" 62"
19" 60" 62" 64"
21" 62" 64" 66"
23" 64" 66" 68"
25" 66" 68" 70"
27" 68" 70" 72"

Draw Weight

All BOSEN limbs are rated at a 25" riser. If you use a shorter riser, the actual draw weight at your fingers will be slightly lower. If you use a longer riser or have a long draw length, the weight will feel heavier. Beginners typically start at 24–30 lbs; intermediate and competition shooters usually prefer 32–42 lbs.

ILF vs Formula

ILF (International Limb Fitting) is the universal standard and fits most modern risers including BOSEN, Hoyt Grand Prix, Win&Win, MK and Kaya. Formula is a Hoyt-specific geometry and only fits Formula-compatible risers. Unless you own a Hoyt Formula riser, choose ILF.

Material Guide

  • Fiberglass — Durable, affordable, and forgiving. Ideal for beginners and clubs.
  • Carbon Foam Core — Lighter, faster, and more stable than fiberglass. The sweet spot for intermediate and advanced target shooters.
  • Double Carbon / Full Carbon — Maximum speed, minimal vibration, and exceptional torsional stability. Built for competitors and serious hunters.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do ILF limbs fit all ILF risers?
Yes. The ILF standard is universal across brands. BOSEN ILF limbs will fit any ILF-compatible riser.

How do I choose short, medium or long limbs?
Match your limb size to your riser length to achieve your desired bow length. Most adult target shooters use a 25" riser with medium limbs for a 68" bow.

Are draw weights measured on a 25-inch riser?
Yes. Industry standard limb poundage is measured at a 25" riser with a 28" draw length. Using a shorter riser reduces the measured weight; a longer riser or longer draw increases it.

Can I get custom lengths or poundages?
